Help my Turkish friends, I really love Yavuz Bingol, especially Album - Usudum Biraz.
Can someone translate this song for me? Let me start with "Olum Var mi" (sorry I did not type any accents, umlauts emphasis over vowels).

you can't translate a song. It loses its rymes and feelings. You will need someone to re-write it in english but it wont be the same. Also, if u can't speak Turkish, why are you listening to Turkish music ?

Hey, I never heard anything so crazy before! I listen to Turkish music because it's so fantastic; do you realise that music breaks down all cultural barriers? So why does our wonderful turkish music site have a "lyrics" section, if not to discuss music lyrics? I have friends from many different countries and they are listening to all sorts of world music, not just their nations. Also I find that translation helps me to learn the language through the music. It is educational tool. I disagree about the rhythm of the song - If I sing along to a lovely song, and know the words then it helps me to feel the rhythm and the intention of the song.

Hi Carol,
I am not sure about the accuracy of the translation I am sending you as the language in that song is rather heavy, different from the daily spoken Turkish and there are local phrases used as well. I can easily say even some Turkish people would
not understand the lyrics of this song and/or they would have to spend some time to think about the meanings of some words.
Sorry about the inaccurate translation again but, I hope by reading it you will have a general idea about what that song is all about.
By the way, unfortunately I am not a musician.

Thanks ESKImadturk, I appreciate you took the time to do this translation; now I realise some Bingol songs are quite heavy and difficult to translate. Yavus may be from 'mountain turk' region which makes him sing sad songs I think.
